I liked the twist of the Skrulls being "good". Admittedly I didn't see it coming.
However, this now poses severe restrictions on future storylines that villainous Skrulls could have led into. Like in the comics, when some Avengers turned out to be Skrulls. I know those arcs were divisive, but I liked most of them.
I would argue, though, that we still don't know enough about the Skrulls to label them "good". Kree were evil, definitely, and Skrulls were their victims. That's where we stand. There's still room for a good writer to turn Skrulls into a bad thing from the POV of humanity.

The Tesseract is recovered from the ocean floor by Howard Stark at the end of Captain Marvel The First Avenger. We can assume it remains in the possession of the Scientific Strategic Reserve or Howard Stark until at some point prior to 1989 when it is sent to Project Pegasus. Somehow Dr. Lawson manages to remove the Tesseract from Pegasus and brings it up to her ship until it is recovered by Fury in 1995.

I recall it was recovered by Stark, now that you mention it. The rest is speculation, but sure. Would prefer this had been explained.

I loved the Stan Lee trubute! Loved it! I clapped after that and then the whole theater joined me, which made me very happy.

Kevin Feige said that Captain Marvel will be at the forefront and leading the Marvel Universe for phase 4.

Honestly its whatever. I just hope whoever directed this current movie isn't ever given another Marvel project. I feel this was this characters time to shine and it was a middling affair at best (I personally did not like it).
