I agree wholeheartedly! There should be a sense of joy and whimsy to this character. The Big Red Cheese was always a bit silly and campy anyway. I mean, one his main villains was a brainy, talking worm and he also had an anthropomorphic talking tiger as a buddy... really? I hope they don't overdo it with the humor, but this Billy Batson seems like a mash-up of the grittier more recent incarnation and his earlier version. I'm hoping for the best.

I think it looks terrible too. I don't like anything I've seen and the costume with the big foam muscles is ridiculous.

Expectations are low for me too but sometimes that is a good thing.

I think it looks fun.
I do wonder if Mary will be in costume at any point. Grace Fulton looks to be excellent casting.

So many people are gonna use Shazam as their safe word after they watch this movie.

I'm not surprised with the humor but expect it will get more serious when the bad guy shows up.
The suit though...

Based on the trailers it just feels like the whole movie is setup as a big joke... Even the actor they got to play Shazam seems like a big doofus...

It looks that way, for sure. Given the trailer, on what else can you base your opinion? I’m hoping the movie is good, and will reserve final judgment until I see it. But, until then, this is the sense with which I’m left as well. As a decades-long reader of the original Captain Marvel, now Shazam!, that would be disappointing.
