I wish they would, and I can't imagine them not doing it. I wait everyday for it to be revealed. I doubt it will be in scale to the APC, though, and frankly I don't expect it to be any better than the APC.
They asked for a ridiculous price for the APC. Darn thing isn't worth much more than a 5th of the asking price, if you ask me. Hot wheels elite had they done it would have done superior 1:18 work for the $100-$300 range. There's a reason few reviews exist for the HCG APC...
Still, a dropship release is very appealing to me. I'll give it a chance if it shows up but it's on HCG whether I buy it or not. Things probably won't open and we'll be extremely lucky to get folding wings.

The AOSHIMA 1/72 scale Metal diecast ALIENS Dropships look pretty cool.
Released way back around the year 2004 or so.

Well if anyone is in need of a studio scale Dropship from Aliens, i managed to get one 3d printed and painted and its rather a large scale size over 4ft with lighting and weapon pod hinge in/out option. Check this out! Always wanted one but its taken the model maker a year to get it built and painted etc. It looks superb. The lady is the model makers partner to show the scale. The base looks awesome too.

Wow, that is one big job to do (3d-drawing(s)/programming/printing many parts) and then you have to assemble and paint..
I have a 3d-printer myself and know how much time it takes. FFF is one of the slowest methods to get large surfaces smooth. The white part on the second photo looks FFF printed with 'PET' wire. Do you know which method your ship is printed?
Outcome is beautiful.
Good paintjob is always important, congrats with it
