Wow.. very sad; the guy gave his life to save the lives of others, and there's nothing more heroic than that.

Exactly.
My mom was killed by a drunk driver when I was 5.
So I have no love for people who drive drunk.

Not for anything they really need to change the laws...Start giving the people who drive Drunk the Death penalty when they kill someone, no jury, no appeals, no nothing...Automatic Death, because not for anything before they drink, they know what can happen, hell we all do. And it seems they always survive...Maybe then there will be less moron's out on the road knowing they might die even if they survive a crash.

Sorry Armitage... I seriously feel for you.
I can't speak for everyone, but I've driven before after having a couple in me. I'm not talking drunk, but I've felt good. However after having my kids and settling down. That has all changed. This story was in my head all day long.

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

Firstly, I think the drink drive limit should be zero. If you are stopped and breathalysed and are over the limit, then even if you havent actually got into an accident, you should lose your licence forever. No second chances. If you then drive with no licence and are caught, it should be a mandatory, lengthy jail sentence.
If you are drunk driving and kill someone, the death penalty? I dont know. A few years ago I would have said no way. However, if you kill someone while committing a crime, of any sort, maybe you should pay the ultimate price too.

I have to say, I agree with you. And I'm what most people call a "bleeding heart liberal", but I have no patience or forgiveness for people who drive drunk.
Back in the early 90's, a guy that I was dating (and very much in love with at the time) and his mother were killed by a drunk driver, and that's something that I've never forgotten.
