Looking for an Airbrush...

Could someone point me toward a good model of airbrush to use for statue/bust painting. I've been brush painting for years, but I really feel I need to start incorporating an airbrush into my work, especially since I'm trying to get some good, portfolio-type pieces.

I have a Perna Apocalypse I was going to get professionally painted by one of the guys on here, but I think I should do it myself for possible portfolio.

I've heard good things about an Aztek, but I don't want to pay too much at this time.

I always use badger and ever since i got the badger 360 i do pretty good with it. Its a universal brush and cleans pretty easily compaired to others i have used in the past.

Badger 360

I push thined enamel paints thru it just fine, and with enamel thinner it cleans well. Plus they are much cheaper these days and very durable.

I am sure others got brushes that they like better, but this is my personal fav to work with.

Chrome- My personal preference is for the Iwata line of brushes. I use the HP-A for the majority of my airbrushing work, and it's served me very well. I would avoid the Aztek, simply due to the fickle nature of the tips. They tend to clog badly, and IME, you will need to disassemble them to get them working right again.

Ok, maybe it's a misconception of mine, but wouldn't enamel paints not be very suitable for doing statues (esp. of humans)? I use acrylic paint on my handbrushed stuff and layer it with flat matte sealant after I'm done to keep the gloss down. It's that gloss I'm worried about and I thought enamel paints almost always had that.

I don't know, maybe using an airbrush is just radically different.

Also, if it's not against board rules, do you maybe know of a site where I can purchase one of these?

I was recommended Dixie by the paintmasters here as a place to purchase airbrush stuff.

I recommend the Badger myself, I use the badger 100G for basic base coating and the Badger Sotar 20/20 for all my detail work (the Sotar 20/20 is my main workhorse and I use it about 90% of the time)

In use this same setup as per Danno's reccomendations and they are great! Quite honestly, I had an Iwata HP-CH for a while and wasn't all that impressed with it. Although some people get awesome results with it.

I use the Iwatta Hp-C plus and a Badger Sotar 20/20. Both great brushes.
