Looks like the classic symbiote design! Hopefully the reveal shows a nice midnight blue paint job with subtle blue highlights.

Sideshow and XM are both really going in on Spider-Man!
Surprised to see this. I thought the other statue was their entry for Symbiote statue. Personally I hope this is more black than blue. I’m interested in the full reveal.

Thankfully it's not. I admired the concept and really disliked the execution.
I know it's unlikely, but I'm hoping the figure itself has no telling attributes of the symbiote. I'm still looking for a proper 1/4 scale I can pass off as simply the black costume that I can pair with Venom as an homage to ASM 300.

The pose kind of reminded me of Spidey in Marvel vs Capcom 2.

I fully expect a bunch of unnecessary Symbiote goo.
But I want what you want for different reasons. In the original storyline when Peter wore it, nobody, included him, was aware it was an alien. He thought it was just some sort of material, not a living being. There were no tendrils (at least in the ASM issues I read, I haven’t read other books like Web of) or things we associate with Venom and Carnage. When Peter wore the Symbiote it just looked like a costume.
