not what I was expecting, but better than attack of the clones at least
kind of has a dark, foreboding feel to it

Luke Skywalker Referred to as The Last Jedi in 'The Force Awakens'
The Force Awakens opening crawl:
"Luke Skywalker has vanished. In his absence, the sinister FIRST ORDER has risen from the ashes of the Empire and will not rest until Skywalker, the last Jedi, has been destroyed."
When Snoke is speaking with General Hux and Kylo Ren:
“The droid will soon be delivered to the Resistance, leading them to the last Jedi. If Skywalker returns, the new Jedi will rise.”

I'm wondering if this title just refers to Luke, as you show he has been referred to in TFA. Or, is this meant to announce that he will be the "last" Jedi, and whatever comes after him will be something other than Jedi. Similar to the way Vader and Palpatine were the last Sith. Snoke and Kylo are not Sith, but something else.

Not as creative as I'd had hoped, but it works.
