This if anything should of been a Maximum Carnage 3 in one statue

I would of even taken it in Sega Style but comic preferably

Wha!!!?!? No! Lol.
Actually that would’ve been a cool idea, too.
For me, I wanted a 1/4 Gwen anyway, and Miles and Peter are my 2 favorite characters. DON’T DISRESPECT MILES!!! Lol. Anyway, for me this statue is literally a dream, my 2 favorites together.
Even though the base does need some reworking. The smoke is not it. Lights wasn’t the answer. And I don’t like the big cartoon webs. Now if Spider-Ham were in this like he is the original artwork then maybe they would make sense. But regardless as the #1 Spider-Fan I had to have this. So much Miles on the way with this paid off, the PCS 1/3 and the Diamond 1/2 bust, everything I wanted is coming. I just need to get my UFO #4 graded and for XM to make a 1/4 Miles.

I haven’t heard anything new with the base...I really hope we see something soon.
And I have got to say the way some of these prices are going up lately, this is beginning to look like a steal. $1299 for 3 - 1/4 statues seems like a bargain..my last purchase was over $900 just for the Iron Spider.

Anyway I read on Bleeding Cool this statue is catching flack because the sculptor of the statue apparently stole Gwen’s pose from this original, non-licensed artwork:
The artist found out her art was used for the statue and contacted QS. Apparently whoever designed the statue doesn’t work for QS anymore and they need to investigate.
I guess the sculptor felt the original artwork was better than Gwen’s pose from the cover the statue is actually based on...sidebar, is it too late for QS to throw in a Spider-Ham proximity piece?
I see people mistake fan art all the time for licensed/published artwork, maybe that’s what happened here and the sculptor didn’t even think about it, but in any case the artist’s artwork was copied/adapted and is being used for a licensed product. They’ll probably either reach an agreement and pay her or be forced to change Gwen.

If someone produces unlicensed artwork, I don’t see how they’d have a leg to stand on if the license owner bases a statue on that artwork.

Licensed or unlicensed, no one should be able to steal your art without permission/or compensation.

Isn't that what unlicensed art is? Intellectual property theft?

I agree with both of you.
Here is another little nugget. Because this is now approved from Marvel to sell. Doesn’t that mean this pose is now licensed? How can you prove who had the drawing first? And yes I’m sure there are ways to prove everything, but there are also ways around things too. They can say the art is close, but there is differences on the statue. Colors, shoes, hood details...etc.
And I think they should to at least credit the artist if this is the case. That could be a big help in a possible career.

Not unless you're selling it and in that case the IP owner can seek to stop you from doing so, but they have 0 right to flat out take what you've created artistically and use it. That's insane. Anyone just practicing their craft and sharing it with the world or submitting art to the company in hopes of getting work would be ripped off.
