You must be talking about the depth, because his foot is literally right on the edge of the base. It's a small base in width at least.

Yeah overkill wasn't the right word for it. I meant more that they obviously needed to just have a very minimalist base, but still felt the need to throw in random rubble, destroyed pillar, statues, etc.. It almost feels like they are parodying themselves at this point.

Honestly it's more distracting if anything. I also swear one of those heads is reused from the previous statue.
