Mark McKenna is a 30 year veteran of the comic book industry. In that time he has worked on Batman, Wolverine, Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk and more recently on Star Wars, counting over 500 comics in all.
A graduate of The School of Visual Arts in 1982, his first credited published works was in a a toy tie-in comic called Sectaurs(#4) in the same year with spot credits here and there. It wasn’t until he brought his Marvel samples to DC in late 1986 and serendipitously met DC group editor Karen Berger that his life took a major change. A day after Mrs. Berger had seen his samples, she called Mark and offered him a new ongoing title, Dr. Fate.
Mark's more recent work can be seen in Legendary Picture Books PACIFIC RIM movie prequel, Dark Horse Comics Star Wars-The Old Republic: The Lost Suns. In 2012 his work on the online web comic titled “Star Wars: Blood of the Empire“ was collected into an 84 page trade paperback and was the lynchpin for the 2012 released Bio-ware online video game, The Old Republic.
His children’s book series Banana Tail and Friends is a labor of love that he created when his daughter was four and had a newborn son. The BOOnana Tail Halloween Special was released for Halloween of last year and was treated as an “all ages” comic project that continues to grow with children that had the original storybooks read to them as younger children.
Mark has also created, written, inked and published the Sci Fi/Horror COMBAT JACKS comic book with issue #3 coming out this June and will be available at GSCF.

Jim has cut a ferocious path through the entertainment arts, with a dozen successful careers to his credit: author, magician, illustrator, escape artist, historian. He is cited as one of the prime architects of Marvel Comics and the co-creator of NICK FURY, AGENT OF S.H.I.E.L.D. He also wrote and drew CAPTAIN AMERICA, THE HULK, SUPERMAN, and THE X-MEN (for which he designed the classic title logo); generated more than 150 original storytelling devices and techniques that changed the direction of the comics medium; and evolved a devoted cult of followers who have nicknamed him The Innovator. WIZARD magazine credits Steranko as the 5th Most Influential Artist in the history of the form.
Over the past several decades, he has amassed more than 100 highly-commercial Intellectual Properties—his Theatre of Concepts—which range from children’s interactive-learning entertainments to high-action adult digital gaming, from science fiction to superheroes. Jan is most well known for her work on the Star Wars comics franchise and, believe us, that only touches the surface of her extraordinary career to date. She was the creator of the Twi'lek Jedi Aayla Secura and her Kiffar Jedi master Quinlan Vos as well as Denin and Vila from Naldar.
Jan’s first published illustration work appeared in Heavy Metal. From there she drew several stories for DC Comics' Sgt. Rock. She co-created Arion Lord of Atlantis with Paul Kupperberg and also drew stories in Warlord and Wonder Woman #300.
Her first work for the Star Wars franchise appeared in Star Wars #92, published by Marvel Comics. Other work there includes art for X-Factor, Hulk, Spider Man and X-Men.
At DC, Jan drew the Advanced Dungeons and Dragons series, then worked with John Ostrander on Hawkworld and the series relaunch of that title, Hawkman.
Jan's association with the Star Wars franchise at Dark Horse began with Star Wars: Chewbacca #2. That was followed by several Star Wars series for Dark Horse: Star Wars Republic and Star Wars Republic: Clone Wars with John Ostrander, the Star Wars: Darth Maul mini in 2000 with Ron Marz and the comic adaptation of Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones. Jumping ahead into Star War's future, Duursema and Ostrander collaborated on the Star Wars Legacy series. After that, the team of Ostrander and Duursema launched the Star Wars Dawn of the Jedi series at Dark Horse which delved into the beginnings of the Jedi.
Other works include DC's Convergence: Nightwing and Oracle with Gail Simone, Ghost for Dark Horse, as well as work for Valiant Comics and Elric:The Vanishing Tower by Michael Moorcock, adapted by Roy Thomas for First Comics.
Jan is currently working on some great new indy projects with John Ostrander and Louise Simonson that will be announced soon!
