Saying that my last Sideshow shipping was $98 for a smaller statue.

The days of $40 shipping to here is well and truly gone.

I can't get $40 to me and I'm in the states.

Yeah - which is why me buying stuff in the volume I used to is ALSO well-and-truly gone.

In the words of Mssrs. Hetfield & Ulrich - sad but true.

I can't say I'm thrilled about the postage costs, but I didn't expect it to be much less tbh. Sideshow have spoiled us over the years, but even they have thrown us off the plank lately with shipping prices.

That said, I also just received my quote from them for the huge Prime 1 Lifesize ID4 Alien and it's only $30 more to ship than this Dredd statue ($153.47). Something doesn't quite add up. One thing is for sure, the days of buying collectibles willy nilly are long gone as prices rise on all fronts!!

Out of interest, why has your VAT bill tripled? I much prefer Fed ex personally and have a better experience with them regarding duty costs than I did USPS. With Fed ex, I avoid clearance charges by having a free account. And if they do over charge, it's usually just a case of emailing them and waiting for them to amend it. USPS didn't want to know and charged me a £15 clearance fee this end. They also held my statue hostage until I paid it, unlike Fed ex who deliver it straight away.

I did.

They said no changes.

If you want USPS, you have to schedule it yourself.

How the hell do I do that, when I have no idea when it will shipped or ready?

Because when it reached UK mainland, Parcel Force took over, and my vat bills with ParcelForce were always around £25 - £35. Assuming they were using the tax code that has been disputed for so long with Fedex.

Now it's Fedex, and I'm back to the 20% tax code.

I'm lost, you didn't pay 20% with USPS? I always did, and then had to deal with Parcel Force and their added charges to boot over here.

I requested to cancel. Was informed I'd lose my $100 NRD. I kept the order and paid shipping invoice. I'm looking forward to the piece. Hoping it arrives before a Halloween.

I guess you got very lucky there then? I just emailed them as I've changed address since ordering this. Apparently it isn't Fed Ex being used for us anyway.
