Rowling said the other 6 copies were given to those close to the Harry Potter collection (whatever that means). I'm going to assume they'd feel much closer to 4 million clams.

Apparently, whoever bought it bought it for Amazon who claim to be the new owners.

I heard this on NPR...I think two went to her editors, one to the artist who worked on the book, maybe one to a proofreader or someone, and a couple to close friends.

Still, I think the 4 million is probably the top price this will fetch for quite a while. This price depended heavily on the Harry Potter mania, which (like all things) will subside. It'll always be a grail, though--one of the big ones, too.

All this really means is that we'll just have to wait 10 or so years (or less) before these stories are available in a general release. Something like Tolkien's Farmer Giles of Ham, these Rowling stories will certainly be published for the masses at some point.
I fully expect Harry Potter's Universe to be explored again by J.K. in the not-so-distant future.
She'll write a book or three which will remove her from Harry's world for a bit. But...she'll return for a number or reasons; passion, addition, money, and because she can. Just hold your breath. This world is young still.
