Art Goals for 2010

Never too early to plan for next year. What's your goal or goal for art next year.

I'll start off. I'm crossing my fingers that our sketch ninja (John H) is able to get me on J. Scott Campbell's commission list. If so I would imagine it might be next year before he even gets to it.

Looking for Frank Cho to finish my Mary Jane headshot on my Spidey Jam. Leinil Yu to finish up my other Jam with a Wolverine on it.

At SDCC 2010 going for a Dodson, Sook and Dell'otto if they show up next year.

Hey Mike,

Well with a little help from you and John H, I hope to make that Avengers/Defenders commission a reality.

What else? I'm not really sure yet. Its been a quiet year so far and I really don't have anything else planned.

Bermejo, Sale, Djurdjevic and Cheung are always on my radar.

The Perez one is going to be difficult but I think we can get something done.

Also I'm good friends with Jimmy as well. I've gotten a ton of stuff from Jimmy in the past but I haven't bugged him at some of the most recent cons. If you want something at Megacon I can talk to Jimmy for ya.

Next year will be expensive.

J. Scott Campbell and Adam Hughes are at the top of my list.

Amanda Conner and some Cassaday pages too.

and that's just the start of it.

Heh, I was just looking at an earlier post of mine in 2007 to the SF boards regarding what artwork I was actively looking to add to my collection which included:

"Doug Wildey (Jonny Quest, cowboy, war, Tarzan, romance, whatever)

Russ Manning (Tarzan, Korak, Magnus Robot Fighter)"

As of last week, I've finally been able to add a fabulous DPS by Doug Wildey and am now waiting on its arrival, hopefully by the end of next week!

So that leaves a hoped for Russ Manning piece and I'll add to that a decent example of Stan Drake's (Juliet Jones, Kelly Green) work.

As for more modern wants, I've been very (very) impressed with Jim Cheung's work and wouldn't mind adding something of his to the collection. Maybe at SDCC 2010. Best,

Royd

Michael Turner Cover or DSP (with some luck maybe still this year)

Possible that I visit the SDCC next year. That will be a expensive trip for me, but when I have some cash left then Eric Basaldua and Stephane Roux are top of my list.

Frame what I haven't framed yet.

Eagerly await my Ron Lim commission.

Beyond that, I have no plans.. probably will get a Caiera commission or two underway, not sure which artists I'll contact for 'em yet, though.
