There was an article they did with him a few years ago for the original Marvel wave and they flat out said the laces are the character’s initials.

I tried to find it again but I couldn’t. But I remember it being discussed when Black Panther, Deadpool and Miles came out. Maybe it was a video and not an article?

This might be the only Spider-Man line ever where they waited this long to release these 3. After Miles, Gwen, Hobie and Ben (I realize though Miles was made before this was an actual Spider-Man series). A little miracle.
I’m exaggerating. Not far off, though.

Not exaggerating at all. Usual Sideshow would've started and ended the line with these three. Into the Spider-Verse really boosted the popularity of Miles and Spider-Gwen/Ghost Spider IMO. New movie coming out soon and looks to be really good as well. Can't wait to see it.
