Who'd ever have a blind engineer anyway?
Does anyone remember the episode where they saw how he sees through the viewscreen? it was like seeing through predators eyes.
How could he possibly do all his jobs in engineering?
What if he had to cut coloured wires, hows he gonna cope then?
Plus, Scotty drinks scotch, Geordi drinks synthol

Actually, this is the episode that made me like Geordi hands down. Scotty basically admitted that we was a "miracle worker" because he inflated repair times on purpose to make it LOOK like he was accomplishing the impossible. Scotty then became nothing more than an old, drunk, lying, bastard mechanic at that point Geordi hands down

No question it's SCOTTY!!!!  I thnk it's kind of funny that they named the engineer to follow Scotty, "Geordi". That's the nickname for an englishman who lives in the Newcastle area of northern England on the borders of Scotland. Hmmm......maybe they were neighbors on the holo deck.....

wow exactly what i was going to say - cheers big G
a blind engineer ? - firstly he prob had better sight then normal b/c his visor would pick up different spectrums where reg eyes only one - and if u recall later on he got ocular implants and could see normally anyway
secondly geordi was a HUGE part to teh 1701d - he was always making modifications and devices to detect cloaked ships and he did all kinda of crazy sh!t
thirdly if u remmeber when picard was talking about when he first met geordi ( the episode where lafogre and ro laren phased in transpost and nobody could see them) picard said he made a comment about the engine being a little off - never ordered anyhting done about it or anyhting but geordi went on to recalobrate the entire engine system overnight - i doubt the fat scotsman woulda done that - ill bet he was drunk as soon as his shift was over
