I heard a little about this a few weeks ago. Originally google wanted it to be on all networks, but the gov. said that was against the law, so they are in the process of deciding. They already bought the frequencies they wanted though, so its gonna happen.
Also, I know google wanted to do a LOT of things with the cellphone that was strange to cellphones and resembled more of a house line heh. A lot of that was shot down in negotiations with the companies though.
