Angry Trick or treating on a THURSDAY?!?!!

Okay....let me stress that I love Halloween. It's one of my favorite holidays. I love to carve Jack O'Lanterns, dress up, and always get a wide assortment of candy for the kids. I went to the trouble a few weeks ago of making a marathon DVD of every Simpsons Halloween special and tonight they're playing It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown on CBS. So I just heard on the radio that trick or treat night in State College, PA is TONIGHT!!!! Yes....you heard right folks---Thursday night!!! I am so pissed that Centre County would piss on a holiday tradition.

So I did some research and found out the full details. Penn State is having a football game (PSU vs. Michigan) and they don't want it interfering with Halloween. WHAT THE BLOODY HELL?! Is nothing sacred anymore? Here's a link with the full details:

I hate seeing one of my favorite holidays beaten to a lifeless pulp by society. It's nowhere near what it used to be.

Reaper is not a happy camper.

After all, college football is the center of the universe.
I'm betting this is one unbelievably self-centered parent's doing.
It's amazing, isn't it?

I'm kind of bummed now. I am taking my girlfriend out of town for surgery tonight and it's going to feel like I completely missed out on Halloween this year because of this stupid early scheduling. I love Halloween and now I feel like I missed the great pumpkin! I even went to the trouble this past month of collecting every Simpsons Treehouse of Horror figure/playset! I have them setup on my TV stand. October is always a fun month for me and now I'm going to miss out even giving out candy! -_-, Disappointed.

Hmmm.....oddly, the other link was removed. Here's another link: http://www.centredaily.com/2010/10/2...at-nights.html

You can see there's some upset folks. It looks like I wasn't the only one sucker-punched with the news.

To hell with that BS. If anyone showed up on my doorstep on Thursday expecting something, I'd tell them to beat it.

Anyone who does it right and shows up on Sunday night gets an extra helping of candy.

Nice quote from a local commentator:

So what day did the munis decide to hold Thanksgiving and Christmas this year? I heard that New Years will be celebrated on the 3rd of febuary.

....seems like the Centre Daily Times website is either acting funny from too many visitors or they're doing some early morning mods. The stupidity ensues! lol
