Robo, I ain't comparing just one part, aspect or profile of both sculpts. I'm comparing the OVERALL look, accuracy AND quality of both pieces(FULL SIZE). To me the HCG kills the MaGee piece. This thing(MaGee) have been on sale forever and never attracted me.
If I had to pick one to be the best right now, I would say that the HCG 1:1 FS STILLS the best Alien 1979 piece yet, even with it's "imperfections". To me no other piece right now comes close to it. Maybe with a little customizing one could make it 100% "screen" perfect. But then one should not have to customize a 5k piece to begin with.

Thanks Mannequin, its one BIG beast
Robomorph, look at this polaroid, the head looks more like HCG alien than Magee's.
There's also that wide lip, take a look at the photo closely, sorry about the quality.

you have to realize that the HCG version is cast from the real deal. Giger's fingerprints can likely be seen in that piece. While the head may not be original, everything else is. It's not just an alien statue. It is a casting of "the" alien. It can't be compared to the mcgee piece. It's Giger's version and in a league of its own.

As one of the BIGGEST ALIEN fans around, I would love to say that I prefer the HCG over the McGee...but I can't.
From the neck down, the HCG is a fantastic piece. But, the head just doesn't work for me.
Yeah, the McGee piece is a bit "artistic" but it's a damn great sculpt all the way around.
To me, this is what the ALIEN would have looked like if Cameron designed it.

obviously not. Cameron went with the ridged head (he stuck with giger's version and ripped off the dome). It's nothing like the mcgee version.

Uh...yeah, I know that...obviously.
Not that it had anything to do with what I posted.
But, Cameron did mean for the ALIENS creatures to look alot different from the original.
Very tall and very thin.
As I said before, the McGee looks like something Cameron would have designed...not Giger.
Some pics showing how skinny Cameron wanted the Aliens.

By this comment, we can assume you've seen the HCG figure up close? If so, why are you waiting on more pictures? lol

For Me, i dont think much of Camerons creature design.
Giger's version is final to me, he's the master, only he alone should have the right to adjust the design.
If Ridley Scott does direct the next movie, i hope he will stick to the original format by having Giger involved in designing the creature like before.
Remember, that lip on the HCG piece is only just under an inch in thickness as kindly measured by Mannequin.
I understand a member is soon to be submitting some images of his soon to be delivered Statue, any luck yet?
