Too bad Kotobukiya don't make 1/4 scale, as their 1/7 scale's look amazing at times.

Maybe, PVC used in figures is inherently easier to make it look nice on a small scale but generally it doesn't look quite as good in larger scales.

I just don't think most PVC manufacturers have had the impetus to develop the paint processes to look good on larger scales. The lions share of PVC is spent trying to recreate anime looks.

There have been some larger scales figures, I think I've even seen a 1/2rd before (it looked plain af btw). The majority of the coloring is the PVC though which doesn't look that great when larger, also it looks really "soft" on larger scales. They paint fine, just the paint is generally the details and weathering/shadows. Clothes, skin etc, all the base color injected into the PVC itself. When you look at juri there, 90% of it isn't actually paint work.

This is a volks kit and not a PVC kit so it's not exactly the same, but this is essentially what they like
