Repair advice

Hello,

I'm new here and I might have already sent a few artist a PM regarding their service on fixing this guy. Only issue is I don't have the art box or brown shipping box to ship him out which will make it very difficult.

With that being said, maybe some of you can give me advice on what's the best way to fix this guy.

I have attached pictures of the damage.

well that's a little more than I thought it would be, thought it had a broken arm or leg. this is a little more involved but still doable

is he hollow or a full cast?

Is broken completely through, are there multiple pieces that need to be reattached?

Thanks for the reply Sonic,

I think he's hallow because when it broke there was nothing inside. There are no pieces, just the cracks needs to be repaired and a small gap by his chest.

Hope I answered all of your questions.

alright so if its hollow youre going to have to fill it with something so there is some "meat" to secure the pieces together

you can either use resin (costly and would be heavy) or you can use expanding foam (inexpensive, lightweight but can be messy and not as strong)

your best bet may be a combination of the two put the expanding foam in just enough that it rises to about 1-2 inches from the broken seam (be careful this stuff goes a long way and is very difficult to remove once cured). fill the rest with resin or even apoxie like aves so that there is a rigid material to pin

you will need to pin the broken parts together, I like to use threaded rod so the apoxie has something to grab onto. there are many tutorials on this but basically you drill holes in both the pieces you want to attach, put apoxie in both holes then the threaded rod and attach the two pieces either using additional apoxie or super glue if you can to hold the pieces in place. 24 hrs later you can go back and fill in any remaining gaps with apoxie.

sand smooth, prime and paint

Does anyone know how I can fix this statue with touch up paint? In the pic you can see by Darth Mauls nose there is a line of black paint in the center with green arrows pointing to it should be painted red. How can I either remove the black or paint it over with red?

Also a little bit of red paint is by his right nostril. So how can I paint that black? Any advice is appreciated. I cant find any local artist that repairs or does touch ups on statues.
