You?re completely wrong. I?m talking about on a broader level. I worked at a job years ago with over 100 employees and most couldn?t recognize Wolverine with a mask on when someone used it as one of our desktop backgrounds, and I?ve known several people who had no clue who the Flash was, so I?m definitely not disillusioned by comic reader knowledge vs common people knowledge. Just like Iron Man wasn?t hugely popular before 2008.
But Nightcrawler would be recognizable by anybody who?s seen X2, one of the most popular movies in the franchise, a few of the later movies, he?s in almost every cartoon outside of the anime, he?s in the majority of video games, many toys, etc. I?m thinking that type of exposure, not just for comic readers.
I?m not saying he?s on the same level as even Gambit, because he?s not to me. And definitely not the level of Storm or Rogue. And he?s far from Wolverine. But
obscure is too extreme. Pixie and Longshot are obscure.
