Here is a guy with some pretty compelling evidence that Goliath was acutally less than 7' but just looked like a "giant" because avg height of Israeli of the day would be 5'3".

Still, for the statue collector I don't think a 6'9" Goliath would suffice. That would be about ARH Thor size. I measured him up and with 1/4 scaling he would be about 6'7".
Historically I know Charlemagne (the actual person) was around 6'6" which was also considered huge for that time and that is a few thousand years later. The avg height for a male at that time was around 5'6" I guess.
