Which Classic, Old-School Hero Would You Like To See Back?
We've seen The Lone Ranger and Zorro make comebacks. Dynamite comics tackled Britain's Dan Dare. If you had your way, which oldie-but-goodie, 30's-40's-50's hero would you like to see a great creative team get behind? Doc Savage? The Shadow? The Phantom? Tarzan? Mandrake the Magician? Buck Rodgers? Flash Gordon?
Anyone else?
While we're dreaming, which team would you like to see behind your pick's reintroduction?

The Shadow for me. Put Denny O'Neil and Mike Kaluta on the book!

The character I want to see back isn't as old as the ones you've mentioned but is in similar taste: The Phantom Stranger. I know he's popped up here and there but I'd like to see at least a mini starring him.

This isn't nearly as old-school as you're thinking, but I'd love to see a new Deadman comic. Light on the Rama Kushna stuff, too--I like my Deadman sarcastic and ghosty, not depressed and angsty.
A few years back, I'd have said Lone Ranger. Years before that, Conan. Fortunately, both are being done quite well.

Tarzan would be nice, if only they could pull it off.

I always thought the Avenger (Justice, Inc.) was pretty cool. He's had two brief series from DC (1975, 1989), but not much came of either.
I'd love to see an ongoing Tarzan series, illustrated by either Mark Schultz or Mike Hoffman.
In the '90s, Marvel released some excellent limited series of the Phantom, Mandrake, Prince Valiant, and Flash Gordon.
