Paris

Took a (sort of last minute) trip to Paris over the past week with my wife. I snapped well over a thousand pics when we were there and figured I'd post a few. We visited nearly every attraction (big or small) the city had to offer in the 6 days we were there and even did a little travelling outside the city (wish we could have done more outside though).

My first visit to Europe and both my wife's and I first trip into France. Definitely the best trip I've been on aside from my honeymoon a few years back and one I'd recommend to anyone.

Enjoy

(if you want to see a specific landmark let me know. I likely have a few shots of it somewhere on my camera roll)

It was definitely a great trip.

It's hard for me to talk about the food as we didn't go to Paris to hit all those 'michelin' star restaurants. For all dinners, we essentially just wandered around (whichever area we were in at the time) and just stopped when something caught out eye. I can't even remember restaurant names...

Lots of great meats at dinner. Best meal I personaly had was the last evening which consisted of a filet (steak), pan seared gnocchi and some oyster mushrooms. Really simple, but just perfect in terms of taste.

Almost every dinner my wife and I also had a French onion soup. So good over there.

The bakeries in the morning were also pretty amazing. Grabbing a croissant (or two...or three) or a baguette, and some cheese. Perfect meal to start the day. The breads were incredible down there.

Perhaps the most disappointing thing for me personally were the street vendors. I really expected more, especially from the crepe vendors. They were all very mediocre. My wife was also letdown by the coffee. She thought local shops would have good coffee, but ended up just hitting a big chain (Costa) to get her fix instead.

Pretty much everything was good food wise though. When you're in a city like that, you can essentially walk down any random alley and find a great place to grab something.

I might have passed it without even knowing. My French is fairly rusty so I gave up trying to translate the majority of stores I saw
