Now that I think about what was missing from the TV show that I loved in the game...it deals with Bill. Bill was the master of traps and in the game, Joel gets snared and hung upside down. Ellie has to try and free him. Well it gets really hairy because infected (including a pesky Clicker) are also all over that area, so Joel has to shoot the infected while hanging upside down and swaying all over the place. That was a fun fight scene that got me killed many times.
Missing action scenes like that are why I gave the show an 8/10 for the first season. The showrunner focused on the human aspect of the apocalypse, which I understand why, but the infected were such an important part too and I think the show downplayed how many infected are out there in that world still.

this part had us scratching our heads too, wife said "maybe she could see it's leg through a hole in the wall" and that makes as much sense as anything so i accepted it.
