I think x-men has a better chance to get out of it's funk, ala First Class. I think FF is just doomed until Fox releases it's grip.

Kids are being naughty and they get in to these all kinds of fun, crazy troubles. Now, i would watch that.
It's not that the whole kid Friendly thing with The Richards kids couldn't work, it could, as a spin-off. But the fact is Fox hasn't earned the right to do a spin off since they can't even get past an Origin story correctly.

It's a wonder they stay in business.

FML.
I'm not a huge FF fan but the Waid/Weirngo run was one of my favorite Team book runs. I've also always liked the family dynamic and fascinated with the fact that beyond them getting powers they never wanted they aren't the usual Superhero tragic story.

Really wish Fox would just let it go.

Unfortunately Marvel wasn't the only one who wrote these types of contracts. Hellraiser, another of my favorites, is under one too. Yet another film rights contract destined to roll around in mediocrity forever it seems.

I'd like to say yes, but I thought the last one was the last time.

Marvel was desperate to make money after their bankruptcy of the late 90s so they sold off their properties to the various movie studios.

I think some of the blame can be placed on producer Simon Kinberg whose been a part of the reboots with both FF and Xmen.

The guy is credited as writing and producing the mess that is FF along with X-Men Apoc.

Look at his IMDB and it might begin to explain the dilemma that FOX is in.

Yeah, the only X-Men movie I've liked is First Class. No more Bryan Singer, no more Simon Kinberg, and no more Lauren Shuler Donner.

Oh I've had a hatred for Kinberg for a while. Just another studio Exec/Producer with little idea what makes things good and has to "put his mark" on stuff. Much like the dreaded John Peters. What an ass clown.

The FF is likely done for the foreseeable future. I can't see Marvel revisiting FF in comic format and risking Fox nabbing a good idea for free.

It's unfortunate, but I get why they do it. Like you said, why give them ideas when they clearly have none themselves. I'm hoping that when they screw this up, they just let the rights revert to marvel/disney.
