Story is baffling so far with what they've given us. It almost seems to contradict itself.
The humans on earth are like a virus, the monsters (titans) are there to wipe out the virus. In order to save the earth the humans will have to locate the monsters. Uhh, wouldn't the monsters wipe out the humans if they are awakened? Isn't that what you just told us they are there to do?
Maybe the humans will have to prove to the monsters that they aren't really the virus. I dunno. But there's bound to be a lot of great monster fights. I'm thinking it is possible that this story will be a lot like past Toho Godzilla films where a monster arrives from space and then Godzilla teams up with the others to fight it.

Not to be too potentially spoilery but from what I got was the monsters are the virus to wipe us out and the female scientist has the plan to get to them before they get to us but her real plan is to wake them all to take out most of humanity. At least that's how the trailer read to me.

That is how I interpreted as well. I think the scientist may initially present to be the savior of the planet before her true nefarious plan is revealed. And then I could be totally wrong ... who knows ... just looking forward to some (hopefully) great monster scenes. I want this to do very well so that we get a big budget Godzilla vs King Kong movie.
