Just chiming in with my two cents since this is Groundhog Day...yet again. In this instance whether it's about the statues weight or detail and painting they're two sides of the same coin. It's not a coincidence for me that when SS have skimped on material (MOS Supes, Pred Bust and now this) the results are inferior to that of polystone and the details are compromised. Hell, even SS's material FAQ page list vinyl and pvc as inferior by how they decribe the two in relation to polystone.

In addition, I personally believe the main reason for the weight in the base is because SS are well aware that is the only thing that allows them to categorise the piece as a statue or maquette. Without it, it is just a vinyl or pvc figure w/ matching base.

Yep pretty much this. Just got the Black Widow PF in recently and I love it but the weight of the figure itself is probably around 5-7 lbs if that. The entire Black Widow PF including the base is 12 lbs according to Sideshow.

Not for that size.

First review is up.....

Not the best review but at least we get a closer look at the statue.....I live in the UK and I'm still waiting for mine. I'm a huge fan of the character and to be honest, I was concerned in the beginning (all the blablabla about vinyl and so on) but after seeing some pictures and also the video, I believe I won't be disappointed.

Yeah this piece certainly looks good from the pics I've seen. Just keep it away from heat and you should be fine but that should be the case for any statue so it's pretty much a non-issue for me.

Its a shame the water effect is totally missing on the statue. It's appears to have turned out great (construction materials aside), but the water/shine effect would be made this statue next level. Without it, IMO, you see the plastic nature of the PVC due to how the paint react with the material.

Honestly, I don't think Sideshow is at the point where they think about stuff like that (i.e. water effects). We've seen it on pieces like the XM Weapon X and Prime 1 Killer Croc so it is disappointing we don't get it on a piece like Swamp Thing which would make sense for him to have this effect.
