Forum Support!

Hey guys

Is it me, or is the Forum Supporters section steadily getting smaller? Looks like we're down to 4 companies actually "supporting" the forum (whatever that means). So, what's going on? Anyone have a clue?

Without support can this forum still stay alive?

I am on here more than the 20 some collectible Facebook groups I belong too. So I hope Danny can keep it going.

One can draw so many (probably incorrect) conclusions from the exodus. But it also makes you wonder what those companies, who were previously supporters, gained from that support.

At one point, quite a bit, especially pre-FB. However, I suspect even the FB thing will run its course soon enough as well as it's turned into quite the aggressive place. Every other day, I have to add a troll or two to my block list. I don't post or frequent FB nearly as much as I used to. I'm hoping that by the time my kids are teenagers, they'll come to view Facebook as a place for old people with old ideas with a limited capacity for personal insight and growth.

Facebook isn't a good fit for people with an axe to grind or for those generally uninterested in or incapable of being accountable for the things they say and do. Facebook rarely fails to show many angry and depressed people there are in this world. While I'm thankful I can typically see it, I'm not thankful that I can't typically step out its way in time.

Also, the major prob with FB is that just about every conversation gets drowned out by the endless feed of so many other things. At least on SF, things are still easily found.

After the verbal bashing SS has taken as of late, I wonder if they'll pull a P1 of the past and dip altogether.

I am not a member of Facebook and do not plan on joining so what bothers me is when links direct you to Facebook yet you cannot access it because you are not a member.

Yeah I noticed the ever dwindling list of forum supporters, got to admit this place is getting quieter and quieter. Back when I joined it seemed to be a hive of activity now I go away for a day or two come back and it seems hardly any posts have been made. The active users number is pretty low all the time also.
It’s a shame as this is the only forum of this type I actively post on. In fact just today I set up an account at ssf as a backup, not sure what it’s like on there though.
