Exclamation Hits and misses

Migt be a fun way of looking back on previous releases. Pick a hit and miss sculpt from either the FS or MB line out lining why you think it's either a hit or miss. Be constructive and no bashing.

Hit - Sabretooth, I think this is a very under-rated piece which is beautifully sculpted and matches up nicely with a few of the Wolverines/Logan pieces released by Bowen.

Miss - Mr. Fantastic mainly because it doesn't know whether it is a MB or a full size. Also think a more fitting pose could have been chosen.

FS

Hit: Dr. Doom. A wonderful piece. Dynamic, ominous, foreboding, and entirely faithful to the lore - A total winner.

Miss: Spiderwoman. What could've been, should've been. The sculptor seemed to be going for a look (albeit a decent one, in isolation) that didn't seem to fit with the rest of the Bowen standard look and appeal. It was off. I hated to have to pass on this one.

MB:

Hit: Battle Armor Thor - What can I say that hasn't been said about this outstanding piece? There is absolutely nothing wrong with this sculpture. It's darn near perfect... The only criticism I have is that it wasn't a FS!

Miss: Rawhide Kid - Paquet's face was perfect. This is one of those rare times I totally disagreed with RB's choice and found myself scratching my head. I wasn't too crazy about only discovering about the head change long after I paid for it, but that's another story.

FS

Hit: Hawkeye - A stunning piece which pretty much has it all. It's one of those sculpts where you really get to appreciate what RB can do when he has the time to devote to a piece. I may be wrong but I also believe it's one of the first pieces which featured a truly elaborate base. Excellent job. - It's easily one of my favorites!

Miss: The first Green Goblin. I'm not sure what look BD was going for here as I kept asking myself which Spiderman artist the sculptor was basing this Goblin version on. It wasn't a bad piece, just not as faithful to the Goblin look I'm used to. Sadly, that often makes the difference between buying and passing on a piece.

MB:

Hit: Cloak and Dagger - My favorite bust from that phase. BD took a risk and completely succeeded. This ambitious two character piece totally captures the essence of these unheralded heroes. I hope BD does more of these two character pieces!

Miss: Hawkeye - Sadly, it looks like someone much older wearing Hawkeye's costume. It just isn't him. It's probably among the most requested mb revisits.

HITS:

Smackdown Hulk: best face on any Hulk FS

Classic Venom: Stunning & creepy

Dr. Strange: great flow, very underrated

Dr. Doom: awesome base & perfect pose

The Lizard: another underrated statue

MISSES

Modern Spiderman: pose does not do character justice

Carnage: too small, unflattering pose

Ghostrider: , I appreciate the bike & pose but GR is a bit too concealed in this FS
