Nevada authorities are searching for 34-year-old Chester Arthur Stiles, wanting to question him as they search for a young girl sexually assaulted on tape. Authorities believe the girl was 4 or 5 years old when the rape happened.
LAS VEGAS (AP) - Nevada authorities have identified a man they want to question as they search for a young girl shown being sexually assaulted in a homemade videotape.
Authorities say Chester Arthur Stiles is being called a "person of interest" in the search for a girl who authorities believe was 4 or 5 years old when she was raped and sexually assaulted in the explicit video.
The older girl featured on the sex tape has been found. Authorities say she's "safe and well." Nye County sheriff's detective says that she was not sexually abused.
Stiles, whose last known address was Las Vegas, is also wanted on unrelated state and federal warrants on charges of sexual assault and lewdness with a minor under 14 years of age.
Authorities say is "possible" that Stiles is the man shown on the videotape assaulting the girl.
Investigators were led to Stiles by tips after photos of him and the girl drawn from the videotape were widely distributed.
The videotape was turned in to police by a man who said he found it in the Nevada desert. Investigators don't think he made the tape, but he was arrested for possessing and promoting child pornography.
Nevada authorities released this image to the media in hopes that someone would recognize the young girl, who appeared in a sexually explicit videotape. The image is from a videotape in which an unidentified man performed explicit sexual acts on the girl, believed to be 4 or 5 years old. Police are looking to identify and find the girl and the man.
