It definitely looks nicer from the side. It is based on Gigers early concept, but I don't love the bug eyes personally. The hollow eyed Human skull they changed it to for the final "Big chap" design was much more eerie and weirdly beautiful imo. The rest is nice enough though.

I think I know who the unfortunate host was for this particular xeno

Does anyone know what this piece is made from? I want to pre-order, but don't want to commit if it is made from plastic and other bad stuff.

ES of only 200, and it already has a "low stock remaining" status.

It ships in two to three weeks after the order gets placed? Hmmm, either that's a mistake or SS had these in production for a while.

I kinda want to get this, but $700 for a non-canon Alien bust is steep.

Yeah just a bit. It's clear that this Alien mythos stuff isn't really selling very well. The only reason this has a small ES is they know they won't sell huge numbers. The mythos queen bust was given an ES of 250 (A proper queen bust in the same form would likely prove popular) That ugly "warrior" mythos statue also has a small ES and is still being pushed constantly in emails and on social media etc despite being out for a fairly long time.

Obviously Sideshow can do as they wish, and with the competition putting out such high end pieces now, the market is no doubt fierce. But it might be time for them to give the people what they actually want. A Dog Alien and a masked City hunter legendary scale bust would be a great start please Sideshow. Just put a bit of love into them and find the right sculptors with a good eye for detail. And as long as they aren't made of shocking quality PVC like the wolf lsb, they will likely sell in large numbers which should allow a better price point in an ideal world.

Absolutely agree. I hate that they haven’t done more canon Alien and Predator busts. I’m still mad that they cancelled the Elder Predator bust from several years ago. I’d much rather have it than the Barbarian Predator with the odd head tilt.

Me too!
And the big switcharoo they did with the P2 LSB releasing a closed mouth instead of the promoted open mouth (which i instantly loved) and then some time after still releasing small run open mouths.

(eels and triangles aside) For me that was a turning point away from sideshow only statues.
