Just watched it in IMAX 3D, and you guys won't be disappointed. The critics are a bunch of idiots, this will be a cyber punk cult classic IMO, it evoked all kinds of emotion.

The movie was fantastic, I think the critics were jumping on the white washing bandwagon. I personally loved the movie.

Nope nope. Most I know who really like the series said it's pretty bad. And that's without the dumb so called twist.
It really dropped off on Rotten Tomatoes too.

well I am a fan of the original clearly I enjoyed it, most of the critics are just jumping onto the stupid whitewashing band wagon hatred which Masamune himself stated is ridiculous. I say everyone should give it a chance and at least go see it

I don't know why would anyone go by someone else's review on the movie, or for that matter, on anything. Just go and see it and than judge for yourself, instead of having someone else do it for you. I never go to any of those critic sites. They just happen to take away that suspense IMHO. And if you feel its to expensive to see it than wait for it to go on cable or something.
I personally plan to see it for myself

Shirow hasn't said anything about this movie. Only the manga's publishing company. Which has financial involvement in the movie. So what do you think they will say? And the director of the 1995 movie and I believe he was a consultant on this movie. So what do you think he will say?
And without spoiling it, as one post I read said, they actually doubled down on the whitewashing in the actual movie.

Maybe that's what she looked like on set without the added camera distortion.
