While I wish that Aquaman had less dialogue (especially when he was giving Mera a hard time since she's clearly smarter and more resourceful than he is), I enjoyed Momoa's performance. As you mentioned, Aquaman has a long history -- including times when he was a bit of a blowhard.
Fun fact: Momoa thought he was gonna be cast as Lobo when he auditioned for BvS and JL.

As a Jason Momoa fan and an Aquaman fan I enjoyed it very much. It had it's short comings but it was by far a better DCEU movie than most of the others and I put it on par with Wonder Woman. I was very entertained and my GF liked it a lot.....mainly because he was shirtless a lot. LOL

LOL, I thing she still likes Thor a lot too. Never have an issue getting her to a Thor movie.

Just saw Aquaman for the second time and enjoyed it even more this time than I did the last time. I think I was able to let my desire to have the Aquaman I've loved all these years be the one that came to the big screen go and just enjoy the film as it is. I had a great time seeing this film again today. The only thing that still doesn't work for me is the song the play when they go to the desert, but other than that it was very enjoyable...

James Wan said the song was a callback to Furious 7.

This movie made me like Justice League a little better. It was great seeing Wonder Woman and Aquaman work as a team against Steppenwolf.
Okay, most of the rest of the movie still sucked, lol.
