Didn't miss much. Just a bunch of people complaining about sideshow. The usual stuff.

Hmm... googling Aspen Rae led me elsewhere....
My takeaway is that, this is not Poison Ivy and I'll go attempt to work out now...

It actually took me a while to find a suitable image of her for this forum. To clarify who she is, Aspen went from being the biggest star of an adult camming site/ Penthouse Pet, then took up body building. She lost her popularity due to her new physique.
When I saw the Ivy preview image it immediately reminded me of Aspen. Not only the build but the face too.

That's crazy! I wonder if that's what she imagined herself to look like when she decided to take up body building.
Well ...as long as she's happy with the results, right?
....Still say that's not how Poison Ivy should look like, tho.

I love the way SideShow is re-imagining these characters to produce something new. Sure this path is going to p1$$ off the old guard, but those "guys" have had their "bajillion" versions of the same characters, done the same way each time.
Now SideShow can play, and produce something which is somewhat unique.

Agreed, Poison Ivy is one of the least physical characters in all of comics. Prime1/Jim Lee has her more right even if people complain about the "mom bod" look.
The Ventriloquist should be more shredded than Ivy, holding up Scarface along with a Tommy gun is more physically demanding that chemical vials. Nor does Ivy have the personality traits to spend hours upon hours at the gym.

Face looks great. Hair looks great. Hands look great. Vines look great.
Butt is too flat. Hips too straight. Shoulders and back way too muscular.
Her archetype is seduction and element damage. Not sure where this change comes from. Even the premium art print doesn't share this representation.

As much as i like the new SSC Poison Ivy, based on the one and only image revealed so far.
The more i look, the more the Ivy looks like a bikini, which is the norm i guess.
It looks less like Ivy, more like a full plant growth, covering her behind.
To cover Ivy's modesty, they could have gone the g-string route, and used a single line of Ivy to cover Poison Ivy's butt.

The Ivy I'm familiar with is all about seduction. This Ivy looks like she wants to rip your head off.
I always think of Ivy as being a little lazy. Always laying around letting her plants do all the work. The print concept is great and has the right body type.
I think it's a beautiful sculpt and figure, it's just on the wrong character.

This is where we differ. I believe that you can create something awesome without straying too far from the original source. At no point has Ivy been portrayed as this jacked. For me personally, that's not unique. It borders on unrecognizable. Either way, this cross-fit Ivy is what's on the menu, so enjoy it.
