Some collectors in this hobby are miserable bastards.

Happy you posted these pics showing the original is flawed, and there is a lot of charm in that.

Given your strong comment, did you see those pictures of a kit that was received? The complaint isn't really to do with an unrefined prop. If it was it would be a complete non issue and I'd be sat smiling from ear to ear waiting for mine to arrive, warts and all. I like a bit of character in something like this and this ship has bucket loads of it. Most of us know movie props are rougher around the edges than what we see on screen. The complaint was simply due to the quality of the resin kit received. Paul has said himself that there were production issues with this unfortunately so it probably isn't just people being "miserable bastards"

Again, we have only seen the one bad kit so the entire run shouldn't be judged on it, but the run has been cancelled ultimately. I don't have any stake in this other than plenty of enthusiasm, I just know that those pictures put me off buying one at this kind of price point and think maybe we shouldn't right off the criticisms so easily, better to learn from them. Assurances from Chronicle that improvements were being made would have been enough to get me back on board had the run continued mind, but it didn't unfortunately. I imagine Paul is as frustrated by this situation as those of us who were excited for the kit and wants nothing to do with it for awhile. But I'll still keep a little optimism tucked away on the hope both of these beauties are revisited in future.

I am also looking forward to seeing more in hand examples now that the Chronicle team are fixing them up in house. I'd also love to see as many pictures of that Athena class as possible! What a beauty, it needs to be made one day

Maybe Chronicle should have supplied detailed pics of the Rodger Young to begin with instead of blaming it's customers.

I didn't see anything and I don't know much about the situation.

What bothers me is when customers bash a product, rip it apart and the company meanwhile they don't want to return it or get a refund because they're afraid of "missing out". That to me is a miserable person. You don't like it? It let you down? You feel ripped off? Return it get your money back and move on.

Again I don't know much about the situation aside from the 5-10 posts I've read on here. But collectors can be brutal.

Strong comment from someone who doesn't know much about the situation.

As Paul said it's more hassle than it's worth, that's why he pulled it, but what that guy received for the cash exchanged is unacceptable.
I'm sure CC will sort it out and move on to what they do best.

If you consider my statement "miserable bastards" as "STRONG" words, you are a girly man.

Calling 'some' collectors 'miserable bastards' is rather strong. And no I'm not a 'girly man'

Anyway, whatever makes you feel better about yourself

you know what I think? it's bull----! all of it!

The secret PMs showing the horror show of a product chronicle delivered but not posted within the Chronicle forum is STUPID. the quiet uproar is kinda childish. Paul posted the original prop as a rebuttal to debunk rumors and gossip being discussed through top secret Roger Young PM group. Everything that dtysst posted about was being discussed in the secret PMs was visible in Pauls pictures. I'm still having a hard time seeing what the problem was. False advertising? Should've included more detailed pics? Customers were overseas buyers and could cost an arm and a leg to return?

We will never know because the silent uproar against Chronicle Collectibles remains classified.

What is this uproar? We're all Chronicle fans here, that's why we hang around. It is possible to be a fan without having the opinion that everything is perfect. In fact I'm definitely one of the biggest fans of this particular project and have several hundred dollars sat in Chronicles bank accounts for other items because they are doing some really great things, nobody is questioning that. Paul called this a disaster a few pages back and wrote on FB that the run is cancelled due to quality issues, he doesn't need anybody to pretend otherwise as that doesn't really help matters much. Criticism can be a good thing and doesn't need to be taken personally. The guy received a sub par product, simple.

There is no secret group either. All I know is I made it very clear I wanted this and received a couple of pm's showing the images that I didn't know about before. No smear campaign, no hating anything, just fans of Chronicle and this project helping each other out without making a scene.

I do however totally agree that it is weird the pictures were kept private. As soon as a Sideshow PF arrives with crooked eyes it is on every forum within minutes with memes made about it. I guess the guy didn't want to cause uproar which goes against your comment somewhat. Anyway, head over to the RPF and you can now see a couple of them as he has since posted them. I am looking forward to seeing some more in hand pictures of cleaned up items now that Chronicle are on the case. It may put that one behind us even if it is to late for the project sadly.

I'm not blaming our customers, I find extremely amusing when someone complains, you offer a full refund and they won't take it. No they would rather you jump through hoops to make it right. I'm okay replacing parts and sending missing parts, but if you just want to stir the pot, that's what I have issues with.

The kit is obviously advanced and my partner was right, we should have never offered a kit.

In the end this will become a sought after kit and I'll make it right.

Paul
