I've had to totally change my OCC battle plan.

Originally I was going to get a David Yardin full body piece but with my current con budget it would be the only thing I could get/do all weekend.

Instead I have changed to:
Have set up 11x17 Return of Superman Inked Full Body from Matthew Clark.
Setting up possibly 2 pieces from Colin Wilson.
T-Rex Jones Commission.
My RDA experience ticket.
X-Men DOFP theatrical poster to add to my signed collection.
Matthew Clark headshot on my Jam piece.
Hopefully Nicola Scott headshot on my Jam.

So yeah, it has gone from quiet to busy

Anyone got anything lined up for OCC? Anyone you're excited to see... This thread is too quiet.

Well... not to put a damper on it, but I had to comment on this. This is pasted directly from OzCC Facebook page:

"It’s the final countdown until Oz Comic-Con takes over the Royal Exhibition Building in Melbourne, July 5-6, 2014! We’ve packed the show full of talent from all veins of pop culture, have the biggest comic guest line up to ever hit the shores of Australia"

To me this quote only emphasises how little interest/knowledge OzCC have of comics. The biggest line up ever? Who? Matthew Clark and the same Aussie artists who go to every show? Seriously?

Nothing against Matthew Clark of course, he is fantastic, but it's his third visit in the last few years. And I love Nicola, David, Jon and Colin to bits, but they are at every con, and live within these "shores" full time.

I just wish OzCC would let Rod handle all comic guest bookings cos then it would be worth going to!

Sorry, I usually try to only post positive thoughts, but it's just such an odd claim to make.

True, I thought that statement was odd... Biggest lineup of Aussie comic talent, yeah probably but certainly not overall and international comic talent.

I'm also going for the media guests so there's always more than one focus for me, this year comic art is just a smaller part of the focus.

Agreed and I believe he tried to help out when asked but no follow-up from organisers - weird!

They certainly have the majority shareholding or interest/ownership so who knows what's going on *shrug*

I'd be surprised if none of the Melbourne-crew attended! I'm pretty sure that Rod will be going along to see Robert Englund (and possibly others)

Commenting purely as a fan, there's not an international comics creator guest whom I'd travel interstate to see (already met Matt Clark a couple of times).

If I were in Melbourne (and it looks like I will be there in a couple of weeks) I'd probably go along just to catch up socially with the local comics artist guests and Matt Clark (plus collector mates).

Have fun Ryan!
