Queen did a great job with their BD T-800 life-size bust so maybe some day they'll get a chance to make Robocop.

Regardless, I don't think Robocop is going to just fade away into obscurity. The film has stood the test of time for 35 years. Someone will make another one at some point.

No it isn't going to fade into obscurity but it's fans willing to spend ever increasing large amounts for its memorabilia are.

If you weren't even alive for the original theatrical release or HBO showings chances of wanting this are slim and that age range is already 35-50.

You coulnd't be more wrong. Robocop the movie is a milestone in history of cinema, one of those few perfect movies. Something that is so good never never will be shadowed and it will be watched and admired over and over by next generations. No need to show it on HBO nowadays you can watch any movie anywhere.

Plus the suit design is a piece of art, there is always anticipation when a good Robocop piece comes out.

If we don't see a lot of them is because we live in a market dominated by Marvel and DC and companies are always seeking secure profit. But from time to time we see old school characters slipping into the game.

With everything you said.

It was a perfect storm of artist coming together to make a masterpiece that only gets better with age. Everyone involved in this from Bottin to Tippett to Weller to Verhoeven to Poledouris all the way down to Ray Wise (Leon Nash) made it a perfect film.

It's an awesome movie but like everything in pop culture and life it has an expiration date.
Not that it is somehow going to be less of a movie or an achievement, just far less of a cultural touchstone.
