You could, but it might just look like his feet are missing... Because they would be. Maybe try simply painting them black first, it might make them blend in and looks less prominent at least.
Removing the feet will just look like they are missing. Personally, I think the feet positioning is the problem. If you are cutting them off anyway, try pacing them further apart from each other. I think it would look 100 times better.
