I share your opinion. The portrait has always been my biggest sticking point with this piece. Still, XM put a lot into this statue and it is rather elaborate. I hope everyone that POd one is happy with it. Everything in this hobby just boils down to personal preference. I'm thrilled with how the Tweeter Joker turned out.

Received mine today. Some small(ish) issues with it:
  • small chip/crack/breakage (dunno what to call it) in the chest area
  • his right foot does not sit flush on the base
  • minor paint issues, mainly visible on the suit

The "chip" is not that bad, because it's not really visible. He kinda has a crouched stance, and there's always a shadow in that area.

The foot issue is kinda worse, there's a pretty big gap there, I don't know how this passed QC.

Pleasant surprises:
  • I had the same issues with the hands not fitting, but with some patience and a lot of care I made it work; that "gas-gun" has flexible handles, so if you're careful you should be good to go. I'm lucky I read the comments here before my assembly
  • Portrait and "gas-gun" are really-really good in my opinion. For me, they're the selling point of the statue. Also, that gas tank is really nicely done, I can swear there's actual gas inside.

+a small bonus: they "f-ed" up the assembly manual. The "mini-bio" the put there belongs to Mistique

All in all, I'm happy with the end product but I'm a bit worried about that leg not sitting flush on the base ... would you recommend contacting XM Support, or?!? (any ideas are most welcome)

Moving forward ... I'm heavily invested in this line (shelf-space is a premium in my case), but I'm a bit disappointed on some QC slip-ups from XM's end. They just need to pay more attention it's not like they mass-produce these things. There's a pretty lengthy production time-frame, enough to make everything spot-on!

I'm sorry for the poor quality of the photos, I can't work a camera if my life depended on it + the lighting in my apartment is god awful!

You are right and I have brought up the issues that you and a few others have had thus far to XM. I am awaiting to see what corrections if any they will have for this. This could be a stop shipping type thing and fix issues whether it be due to packaging or materials, etc. Time will tell, I have this on PO too and heaven forbid the first in the line comes out less than acceptable.

Yes, I'm surprised this one wasn't perfect since it is the first in the line. You'd think XM would want to come out with their best foot forward. Maybe these are just isolated issues. Hope they make it right.

Unfortunately, it seems QC issues are starting to become the norm with XM

XM Studios News

"We've noticed a few collectors having fitting challenges with XM's 1:6 Joker, i.e. the hands to the wrist area. Based on our investigation, we believe this to be limited to a small batch of products that has'heat warped' due to high temperatures during shipping conditions. We have temporarily stopped shipments and are re-checking the production pieces for extra precautions. For affected collectors with the issue, please contact custcare@xm-studios.com for replacements. We sincerely apologize for the concerns caused and will continue to monitor the situation.", XM Studios.
