I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

Joker 8/10 more of the sad effects of metal illness when left unchecked. Aside from the occasional mention of the Wayne's this could have had absolutely nothing with Batman.

I agree. It's a good movie but a little overrated.

Midsommar 6/10 It was ok but I had heard it was super awesome. Maybe my expectations were too high?

I am shocked to see such decent reviews for Dr. Sleep! For those whose saw the movie, did you also read the book?
Bc I have read the book, quite recently too, and I am having a hard time picturing it being a good movie. Maybe whatever book to movie changes they made work in their favor?

Yep. I was sad how the movie (which is great in its own merits) never used the topiary. I loved when the TV show did.
Just the all little things about the Overlook that made the TV show good.
Funny story about how I saw The Shining the first time, we went to the drive-in that played releases of movies. In Michigan you got a random smattering every summer of what would be on. I was 4 and my parents took us to see E.T. Wasn’t keeping my attention. So I kept turning around to watch the movie behind us. I didn’t know until a few years later that I was getting told to turn back around because I was watching The Shining. I saw the Twin Girls, elevator of blood, the snow chase...it was way more fun than boring ET. It’s also really strange to watch with no sound. I will always have a fondness for The Shining.

The movie corrects King’s mistake with the novel. The Overlook is a huge part of The Shining, and its absence from the Dr. Sleep novel was a huge disappointment for me. It’s great to see it again, and used so effectively, in the movie.
