Arrived today. First impressions, it is quite good if a bit plastic, and not quite as dark

8.7/10

Negatives: There is an obvious seam on R2's silver dome head.
Too bad he fails to make any sounds.

I watched The Empire Strikes Back last-night.
The scene above, one of my favourite R2 moments - R2 on tip-toes looking into Yoda's house.
This got me thinking - can the Sideshow R2-D2 Deluxe perform the same move?

A. No. R2's feet cannot be moved to tilt anywhere close to that (as can be seen in the screen shot).
10° appears to be about the maximum angle of R2-D2 Deluxe

'Recreate all of your favorite movie moments' - Sideshow

Maybe Sideshow should remove 'all' from that

My somewhat modest Star Wars collection, miniscule in comparison to an out and out Star Wars collector.
The collection consists of:

Hot Toys - Princess Leia - Hoth (figure)
Kenner - Bossk 10cm (figure)
Medicom - RAH Stormtrooper 11.1/2 inches tall (figure)
Sideshow - R2-D2 Deluxe

Star Wars - A New Hope (dvd)
Star Wars - The Empire Strikes Back (dvd)

I’ve been tempted by the ¼ Chewbacca from Sideshow. Darth Vader is another character, I wouldn’t mind owning.

Star Wars related statues I’d like to see happen include:

Luke on a Taurn Taurn 1/4
Bossk 1/4

Supergirl Premium Format(TM) Figure 1/4 Sideshow Collectibles

I decided to pull the trigger on this piece, long sold out on Sideshow, after spotting a *good deal on ebay. Supergirl is one of those pieces that left many divided on the forums, myself included. Hairline, overly long neck, her left hand, boring base design, all came under scrutiny.

In hand, i like the piece. The slightly long neck fits well with the long body and legs of Supergirl. The light hair colour and skin tone blend so as not to draw one's eye to the hairline. The shades of blue, yellow and red used on the outfit look perfect. Supergirl's cape takes some work to get looking acceptable. I'm not too sold on the base design (white clouds would have been a better choice) although it serves its purpose, and add's a height to the piece, maybe too much. The base also features the dreaded base below a base circular round section (a personal dislike of mine). The more i look at the piece, the more i know it's a keeper

*Sideshow $424.99
Shipping $78.00
20% Import $85.00
Total $587.99 (£435.99)

I paid a total of £255.00 ($343.90) ..and saved myself the cost of a Hot Toy

Glad you finally got one. I really like mine. The more you look at it the more you appreciate it I think. I agree on the cape. Think it may be a tad too big. Takes a lot of work to get it right.

It's funny out of all of my statues I am pretty sure this is my girlfriends favorite.

When it came to the cape, i copied one of the images on the Sideshow site. Getting the cape to sit flush with the shoulder tops is difficult. The piece looks good in person. Up close, the hair and hands have tiny imperfections, but this is normal for Sideshow. They are improving.

The cape was easily the aspect I spent the most time fiddling with. Seems to be that way with most statues that have long capes.

Mine still refuses to sit flush with the shoulders. I'm happy with my posing efforts
