Simple detail paint

Hey guys
This is kind of a subjective question but perhaps you can give me some handy tips.
I've got a sculpt finished off and baked. I'm planning on just giving it some kind of very quick, simple paint job that simply merely out the details.
If it's not too non-descript a question, could I get any suggestions on decent looking techniques to run with from here?

It occurs that maybe it'd be a little easier for you to suggest tips if you actually had some idea what I was working on.

That's pretty cool! Nice work!

It is very difficult to understand exactly what you want
to do. I am not sure whether you are speaking of
painting it in full color or if you are talking about
basing the piece out in one color and maybe doing a
glaze or stain effect to show the detail work.

If you are speaking about painting in full color, there
are literally 1000's of articles on painting, showing
many different techniques and styles. You may consider
checking out this site and subscribing to help get
yourself familiar with some:

Sorry, I really should have clarified that. I'm just looking to paint it a single colour. My inclination based on the Games Workshop miniatures I used to paint years ago is to give it a base coat, use an ink wash to darken the inset details and then dry-brush on a lighter shade to bring out the raised details. I don't know whether that sort of technique would be suitable for a model this large though - he stands about 20 cemtimetres high.

It is basically the same as what you do with your
miniatures. Choose some color as your base color
and go over the piece with a darker wash or glaze
or stain and wipe off the excess.
