It "could" be that they're actually confident in their reveal. Hard to say really. I personally wish they had shown the actual painted statue instead of the render.
I love hmo, and Morrigan in person is by far one of the best statues I have seen in person in the last 11 years of collecting for me, but make no mistake I won't be keeping my order if they don't come through on a great Mai.

they did reveal the first fully painted prototype at SDCC last year, and people crushed it to bits. maybe they couldn’t take anymore chances to lose the money on unusable prototype?
oh and regarding the flame on the base, I don’t mean to add more flames to it. what I mean is if they cannot sculpt a flame effect that can complement the character nicely, just scrap it all together. Mai is already look good by itself. I hope they make the flame removable and Mai doesn’t sit on top of it.
I completely understand the sentiments on the cherry blossoms tho. my girlfriend talked me into it.

As I said I buy statues based on the aesthetic of the respective statue not based on company reputation

The concept looks a lot better than before but I'm still not thrilled with the portrait. It sort of reminds me of portrait from their Nariko statue.

I mean you should take that into account because plenty of companies don't deliver on what they advertise :P

Really?! Huh...
I kind of like their Mai render portrait and can't wait to see the actual sculpt. But I do hope it looks even better painted than the render.
But I couldn't stand their Nariko face sculpt. As a HUGE fan of the game it looked NOTHING like Nariko and I thought it was very poor.
I don't get that vibe from their Mai.

Who knows, I guess it's just me. Did they mention when the prototype will be ready.

I don't understand, is this a different version from the one in the original post, or did they go back to the drawing board to create something totally different?
