I think we'll have to call in the National Guard to hold back the crowds! I loved the part where the reporter described the orcs as having spring-loaded shoes. And the Ents are nothing more than singers yodeling at you on top of stilts. Ought to make for a "memorable" evening!

Shoot the director....Shoot him now.

Then shoot the actors, the stagehands and the witless morons that backed this fiasco.

Then have a pint O Guiness and reflect on a good days deed done.

You're a good man Ceramicus! Or, better yet, call in Lord Odin and he can nuke 'em all in one fell swoop!

You know, nukes don't get all the use they need to, do they? Might just be time to start!

That's interesting. Perhaps it has something going for it after all. Or maybe those reviewers are diehard Tolkein fiends like myself.

Well, it all seems like an ill-advised and potentially tasteless venture in my eyes. And compressing the running time for the trilogy into a mere three hours doesn't sound like it will aid the audience's comprehension any (that is, for the unannointed few). I mean, think about it: Enya meets Julie Taymor on their way to Woodstock. Tom Bombadil prancing around onstage putting daisies into the orc's crossbows, etc. Hmmm, I dunno. I remain skeptical.

However, I would go see it, if only to make my own appraisal since I don't trust professional critics very much. Alas, our spavined economy is floundering around in it's own blood. To spend all that money right would be unwise.
