Hard to tell anything from a blurry pic. Anyway, the side profile isn't what the main complaints are.

And anyway off profile shots for almost any piece almost always seem to be the best angle for any piece.

And that's all that matters. Positive or negative, people will see what they see - it's impossible to convince someone to see the likeness, or not see the likeness.

In the end, JND's products will always be placed under a microscope simply because of cost....period....

Chris The Batman Statue Collector dropped a video a few days ago about the Arkham Harley from Prime1, where she's sitting on the chair. He was gushing over the statue - "it's amazing" - "it's the best Harley statue ever made"....blah, blah, blah - all I could see is the same old Prime1 lack of quality paint apps, overspill on the paint lines, no detailed definition on the skin, etc.etc. And this is a comic / video game piece - way easier to pull off than a hyper real piece.

Now watch his movie about the JND WW84 JL - suddenly he's hyper critical, diving into detail, looking for every fault.....the hypocrisy shines bright.

Good points! And about Chris. The reason for that is, he is getting sponsored by Prime1, XM, and Queen Studios…. Not by JND.

Long story short, whenever the statue is from: P1, XM, or Queen Studios, the statue is automatically branded as fantastic. But whenever it is from JND, it always is:
  • It is off
  • Looks not that very bad
  • To pricey
Or the good old;
  • There is just something not quite right, what do you guys think?

Besides that, I think that Chris is a nice, open, and good guy. I have loved his reviews for a very long time, until his biased reviews became to obvious that is.

It's actually quite sad to see Chris go down that route - but....if JND were sending me free statues, you can imagine the videos I would make......actually, nothing would change

It also speaks volumes about the work that JND are doing, when they're not relying on YouTube "influencers" to help sell their products - in spite of Chris's *there's just something not quite right* - the statue sells out! Compared to the products that do receive his support

That's one reason i unsubscribed to BSC
He has in effect become null and void.
The same applies to Gem Mint. He will push Sideshow and Arcade1up all day long (Arcade1up's are supposed to average at best ).

Radd Titan and The Secret Sanctuary seem honest enough

Isn't it obvious that most would be more critical the more expensive something gets. Or the opposite, where we're more lenient the cheaper something is?

Forget about brands, if something costs $100 vs $30, one would expect something of better value with the more expensive item.

However the subjective nature in these cases relates to everyone's different level of expectations. To many who've preordered their expectations have maybe been met, whereas to others who haven't preordered they simply weren't.

I'll be honest I've preordered this, but I don't think it's perfect. As I originally stated it's a solid sculpt but I prefer the WW84 facesculpt (but I much prefer the standard armour/costume). Though that original video was really badly lit imo, with the later photos pushing me over the edge, barely.

And I'll admit FOMO has impacted my buying decision here, but value wise I personally believe the Queen pieces (silicone busts etc, but they can also be far from perfect) are better value to my collection as it's currently leaning more towards the MCU than DC. Which is probably why I'm more forgiving with MCU pieces, whatever the brand (I preordered both of Queens Black Widows, even with their lackluster actor likeness).

I stopped watching Radd Titan years ago, for very much the same reasons. They would rip apart any and all Prime 1 pieces, but would glorify worse pieces from other manufactures. Later on once Prime 1 became more mainstream, a switch was flipped when it came to their critiques.

I completely agree - it's almost impossible to ignore the relationship between money and what you receive.

That said, I think there are people who are really expecting too much.... $3199 doesn't buy you a miniature replica of Gal Gadot, even $30,000 wouldn't.

And it has nothing to do with the value - its related to the fact that Gal Gadot simply does not look the same for everyone.

If you spent $50k - and had a custom piece made, based on facial scans of Gal Gadot - I guarantee that someone would say "wow, $50k for that, something is off" - even though it's based on a 3D scan......sorry, but this is the reality.

Companies like JND are fighting an un-winnable battle, and in the end - it comes down to each individual to decide if its worth it for them. All the debates (and arguments) over looks and accuracy are pointless.

I know some people here think, that by voicing an opinion, it will drive JND to make changes - but this (IMHO) is wrong, because for every change they might make to satisfy some people, those same changes will lead others to be dissatisfied......

I understand, but - and I say this respectfully - this is your problem, and not a failing of JND. If you have the money to spend on pieces that don't fully meet your expectations - JND will happily take your money, and so they should.

I think the Queen Studios work - in general - is good / great, and right now, I'd consider a collection made up of purely Queen Studios pieces to be a premium collection.

Radd Titan could have defected and signed on the Sideshow Collectibles dotted line and received free statues in return for favourable reviews and accepted all manner of contract agreements, including not reviewing various other pieces. They declined.

There is a YouTube channel called Red Cup Review. He tends to focus more on 1/6th scale. He agreed something with Sideshow, and received a 1/4 scale piece to review. During his review i could sense he was not into 1/4 scale, thus the review came across as less than positive. As far as i am ware, that was the last 1/4 piece Sideshow sent Red Cup Review
