Can not take credit for the pics, not mine. Seeing the statues side by side, I think I prefer the Savage Hulk over the variant. That may change when I get mine and compare them close up.

slight mea culpea in order. This is my first chance to see in hand pics of the variant, and it does look like Bowen realized he needed to alter the neck area to support the attitude. I don't know how well just adding some veins works, but it's something I guess.

Also, just to be clear- I understand why more people will likely gravitate towards the variant. I don't think it is a poor representation of the character or epic fail of cutting and pasting disparate elements or anything like that. I'm more ameanable to the variant after seeing the latest comparison pics, but the original version still feels the most cohesive to me in terms of body attitude and expression.
FWIW, the one piece that has always bugged me the most as far as facial expression not matching the body is the first SS piece I ever bought, the Elektra comiquette. Beautifully dynamic body, and a gorgeous face, but the placid expression on it is totally at odds with how the figure is physically exerting itself. Sad that something so simple and obvious was completely misssed.

This latest pic though, it looks like the Savage version has the more 'cartoony' colors. I hope in person that the green hews more to olive than the day glo green I've seen elsewhere.

Wink

Pictures never do justice to any statue. Intricate details are hard to see, colors look washed out, size and statue presence get lost in translation on a flat photo. Overall, you have to see it to believe it. Admiring art is always better in a gallery than in a magazine.

I like both versions but I chose the variant over the regular (if you can call it that) because it works better with my display. I am very selective with my collection and extremely picky. I do not have money to blow and I am not trying to collect all the pieces of only one character in the market (I respect those that do). My variant Hulk is very impressive and I personally love everything about it. I guess that the same goes for other collectors and this version.

Trying to find the winner is like stacking up a Chevy Camaro and a Ford Mustang against each other (Americans know what I'm saying); no one is going to end up happy.

I am liking the reg. statue in the new pics - growing on me. Variant is still way better - but the regular looks good.
