I'm surprised this has become such a big issue, as Mystique has been displayed at cons next to other statues for about a year and a half. I thought it was always visually pretty clear she was a bit taller based on all the videos.

It's not until you see her in person that you notice that everything is bigger on her, face, hands, feet, legs, arms, etc....
Bottom Line: It's 1/3.5 scale and XM advertised it as 1/4 scale. It's called false advertisement. My best guess is XM kept quiet because they knew not many people would buy a scale that didn't match the rest of their X-Men line.
It's a great looking statue other then the scale f'up… I was happy with it when I put her together, it wasn't until I place it with the other x-men statues that I notice the scale was off. I even tried to convince myself it's not that bad, but after weeks of looking at her with the other statues it started to piss me off.
If SS or any other company had done this I would be -----in in their forums.

Unfortunately, XM fans are world renowned experts at coming up with excuses for anything that is wrong about a piece of theirs.
The other day I saw someone literally say that you were getting more for your money with Mystique being out of scale. But, if a Sideshow piece was out of scale, people would be roasting them for 25 pages.

Well Sideshow is the easy target as they have been around the longest.
This is only my 3rd XM. I have not gotten it in hand yet, waiting for it to ship. Would all you say this is a solid reason to cancel and get a full refund or not?
Just asking the opinion, I plan on keeping mine as I don't anticipate displaying it with others.

Nah, if you've already ordered I wouldn't cancel. You might not even notice in person. It really just depends if details like that matter to you (they do to me, but not everyone feels the same).
I do think the blue skin color is gorgeous, as are the portraits (especially the shorter hair). Guns look good too.

If you plan on giving Mystique her own shelf then you won't notice the scale issue but if you plan on grouping her with other X-Men statues on the same shelf you might find issue with it.

Ahh, ok, that is your problem. I buy what I like and I do not care so much about the size.
But now I can understand that you are a little bit upset.

Agree 100%. I don't frequent these boards as much anymore but I am very active on the FB groups and posted there pretty much the same thing that you state here. It is the best representation of Mystique out there. She is just about perfect, but the scale difference is a deal breaker for me. She absolutely dwarfs other 1/4 scale statues. I put her next to SS She-Hulk PF and the new SS Cap PF and the size difference is glaring. I feel deceived. She was advertised as a 1/4 scale statue. I purchased her with that understanding, but she is much closer to 1/3 scale. I can't believe XM has not acknowledged it or done anything about it yet. Long time XM supporter here, but I had issues with Dark Phoenix not fitting into her base and now Mystique. XM is on probation with me.

Please don't generalize us "XM fans". I am a fan of their work and I am pissed about the scale screw up on their part.
