The first one's camp, but lovable camp.

The remake is definitely worth a look. The special FX are fantastic, it's non stop action and whilst it is a remake, there are a number of differences to keep it interesting. Let's just say you no longer need to "get your ass to Mars" !!

I'll be content watching Biel and Beckinsale's asses.
Thanks, Nick... I'll check it out!
Colin Farrell's not a bad actor, either.

Did he really set up elaborate traps???
It was more like the only way his set-up works if peole with no cell phones park 100 feet away from the ATM and are some of the most stupid people on the planet. And also be unarmed. If one of these guys had a concealed weapon, they would have killed him!

I liked that one too. I especially liked the multiple alternate endings where different people were the murderer. I remember when it came out they did that in theatres so that it wouldn't be the same ending in every theater if I recall correctly.

Maybe not elaborate I was thinking about the cables etc. But then to be fair, I wasn't paying much attention

Batman: Year One 7/10 My 2nd viewing of this and found it rather dull. Animation is decent and the story is based on Frank Miller's comic book arc of the same name.

This may be hard to believe for some but to me Beckinsale blows her away in this in terms of ass shots and hotness overall
It was probably a 7.5/10 to me by the way worth one watch for sure.

I'm actually looking forward to seeing Total Recall. But my expectations are low. If that makes sense.
I enjoyed Farrell in the remake of Fright Night enough.

Solaris (1972) - 7/10
I first tried watching this Russian adaptation of Stanislaw Lem's novel in college and couldn't even get through the first of its three hours. Twenty years later - success!
The crew of a space station orbiting an oceanic planet are having mental breakdowns, so a psychologist is sent to assess the situation and finds that there is a very good reason for the crew's problems. The story is pretty good, but there are far too many lengthy tracking shots that detract from it. Do I really need 5 minutes of watching a car drive into a city? Or another 5 minutes focusing on the details of a painting on the station? Still, I enjoyed it, and the ending was excellent.
