I think it would have been pretty difficult for them to get that lantern to light up, the handle on that thing is pretty skinny. I see that being an electrical nightmare, especially at the factory level

Soon as NBR got him, he made him start working out. So his suit is a little more snug cause of that extra buffness.

Given the level of LED technology today, they could have simply made a lantern that was basically a self contained unit, where a small round button cell battery was placed in the bottom of the lantern itself. It really wouldn't be very difficult at all from a manufacturing level. You would likely have to make the lantern a little more robust quality wise, since people would have to handle it to switch out the battery, but it still wouldn't be a difficult thing to do and certainly wouldn't add much to the overall cost.
